Welcome to Shatterscape

About the project

This universe was originally conceived over a period of many years by Jakub Gedeon. It is spawned discontent with the world of RPGs today. Namely, the hope is to piece together a world that is complete, consistent, highly magical, suitably realistic, original, and most importantly, fun to play in.

Theme

This is a post-apocalyptic AND dystopian universe, targeting many of the same ideas and themes from these classically science fiction generas from a fantasy perspective, allowing more freedom and wonder. For example, a sci-fi novel might be about a rebellion of robots led by a sentient AI: in this world, Constructs (or golems) have gained the ability to think and rebelled. In sci-fi, a dystopian future might have humans as servants to giant corporations whose only goals are profits. In Shatterscape, corporations are noble houses, but the basic feel of the thing remains essentially the same.

Site Structure

Generally this is how the site can be viewed (and what needs to be done). Feel free to add on:

  • World: The geography and structure of the worlds.
  • Magic: The types and structure of magic.
  • Races: The various races that call the worlds their home.
  • Combat: Explaining the intricacies of the combat system.
  • History: The history and general back-story.
  • Templates: Explanation of the template system, Shatterscape's alternative to classes. (This may end up getting scrapped).
  • Denizens: The various inhabitants, creatures, and horrors that reside in the various realms.
